  • Message from the Superintendent re. the Avalon Fire

To all families of Edgewater students displaced by the Avalon fire:

Our hearts are with you during this difficult time.  By this point, we have been in contact with each of you regarding your child's schooling.  However, I wanted to extend a follow-up message to remind you that we are available to assist you and your children as you continue the process of securing housing.  Under the McKinney-Vento Assistance Act of 1987, displaced students have a variety of rights and options available to them. You can view this information online here:

Each school district is required to have a McKinney-Vento liaison. The liaision for our district is Mrs. Patricia DeSanto.  She can be reached at pdesanto@edgewaterschools.org or by phone at 201-945-4106 x1222.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you have.  We are here to help.
